Dr. Rebecca Jankowiak, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
I graduated with my Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, in 2004. In 2005, I earned my Doctorate Degree from the University of Maryland. Since that time, I have worked in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine.
I believe that being injured doesn’t have to mean that you are stuck on the couch. While it might require some modification, I want you to stay as active as possible throughout your rehabilitation journey. I also recognize that everyone is busy these days, so I give specific tools for patients to safely and effectively get back to the activities they want and love to do.
Also, I am a former intercollegiate runner and continue to run for joy and for the love of the sport. Because of this, I have a special interest in treating endurance athletes, including gait analysis for runners and I have taken specialized courses addressing running and gait issues to promote optimal running mechanics addressing speed and form. I also have attained advanced education for Dry Needling through Kinetacore and Myopain Seminars. I am approved and registered to perform dry needling as an effective adjunct to therapy, and more recently I have begun to specialize in pelvic floor rehabilitation. I have taken the Level I APTA pelvic floor rehab course and have also taken courses addressing postpartum rehabilitation.
When I am not in the clinic, I enjoy running, baking, hiking or doing something else active with my family. And, then there are many weekends, you can find me on the sidelines of a soccer and lacrosse fields!
