Dr. McKenzie Becker, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
McKenzie Becker received her Bachelors of Science in Human Physiology from the University of Oregon. She then received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St Augustine for Health Sciences.
She began her physical therapy career at a rural hospital affiliated outpatient clinic in Washington treating acute, post-operative, and chronic orthopedic, neurological, and vestibular disorders. It was at this time she honed her skills in education and exercise prescription to maximize the therapeutic potential of patients.
She found that considering the whole individual, from their specific goals to their specific environmental and socioeconomic barriers, was necessary in shaping treatment plans. She became interested in pelvic health physical therapy to provide specialized healthcare and to help normalize the conversation around pelvic health disorders. She enjoys empowering patients with knowledge and tools to best manage their musculoskeletal disorders through a lens that considers the whole person.
She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. She enjoys attending conferences and taking continuing education courses to develop as a clinician. Her areas of interest include Pain Neuroscience Education, using the FITT principles in shaping exercise prescriptions, guidance with return to sport, and applying concepts from her Barbell Rehab Certification to a patient population of all ability levels.
McKenzie lives in Austin, Texas with her partner and two dogs. She enjoys taking her dogs to parks and breweries, spending time outside hiking, camping, and kayaking, and hanging out and laughing with friends.
