We're Accepting Medicare Nationwide!
Starting this February, we're proud to announce that Origin is expanding Medicare coverage to include all of our in-person clinics across the U.S., as well as our virtual clinics in California and Texas. This means we can now serve an additional 1.71 million patients, bringing our total number of covered lives to 50 million.
“This is a huge milestone in our mission to increase access to pelvic floor and whole body MSK care for women and people with vaginal anatomy, through every stage of life,” says Carine Carmy, Origin’s co-founder and CEO. “Medicare patients in need of specialized care typically wait months to see a pelvic floor physical therapist, and many areas of the US are pelvic health care deserts. This step is about making essential care more available to the people who need it most.”
While pelvic floor dysfunction impacts women and people with vaginal anatomy in every decade, it’s significantly more prevalent in those 65+. From incontinence to pelvic organ prolapse, risk of diagnosis for all types of pelvic floor dysfunction increases with age, and 30% of all women diagnosed with PDF are over the age of 65.
“Now is the time to tell your mom, your aunt, your grandparents – you no longer have to suffer in silence! Feeling good in your body and getting the care you deserve can have ripple effects for generations to come," says Carmy. "And now with nationwide Medicare access, we can better support those 65+ who have dealt far too long with a healthcare system that has ignored and dismissed women’s needs.”
Patients using Medicare at Origin will have access to evidence-based, convenient care that includes:
- One-on-one clinical care with licensed pelvic floor and orthopedic PTs
- Access to a customized digital exercise program and educational resources
- Integrated care coordination with other healthcare providers
- Both in-person and virtual appointment options in CA and TX
If you’re enrolled in Medicare and interested in starting care at Origin, you can book a visit directly online. A referral is needed to be covered for physical therapy and can be written by a number of medical providers including Physicians (MD/DO), Physician Assistants (PA), Podiatrists (DPM), Nurse Practitioners (NP), and Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS).
Please contact our team at info@theoriginway.com if you have any questions about your coverage or to find out more about how our PTs can help with your symptoms. We're here to make physical therapy as easy and affordable as possible.
