Real Talk FAQs

What should I wear?

Wear clothing that you can move in. Shorts and tank tops make it easiest for your therapist to see relevant body parts and muscles.

Where do I need to be?

Choose a room that is well-lit and has enough space for you to fully stretch out on the floor.

What equipment will I need?

For your first session, you may not need anything at all, but showing your therapist what you have (yoga mat, weights, bands, foam rollers, etc) will help them build your custom program.

Can my baby be with me?

Yes! Sometimes we can use your child as a weight or to practice safe lifting and carrying strategies. But, we also encourage you to give your body the full kid-free attention it deserves, if you can.

Will my Zoom be secure?

Yes, virtual sessions with your pelvic floor physical therapist are HIPAA compliant and will never be recorded.

How do you do a pelvic floor exam virtually?

You will never be asked to show your vulva on Zoom. In some cases, your therapist may offer to verbally guide you through self-exam or you can choose to do a self exam between visits. Your comfort is our priority.
