Dr. Jennifer Carr, PT, DPT, OCS, PRPC
Physical Therapist
Jen received her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego in 2007. At UCSD she enjoyed keeping up her gymnastics skills, coaching gymnastics to kids and adults, and taking numerous dance classes through the dance department. She then went on to complete her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Southern California in 2010. She received her Board Certification Specialty in Orthopedics the following year after completing the Orthopedic Residency Program in 2011.
Her passion is working with all individuals to reach their goals; especially parents, runners, weight lifters and performing artists. She is an active Mom of two herself (est. 2013 and 2016) and loves helping other parents feel strong and capable. In addition to her specialization in treating orthopedic regions (including Temporomandibular Dysfunction or TMD) she has done extensive coursework in treating the pelvic floor across the lifespan and passed the PRPC (Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification) exam in 2022. She enjoys being a teaching assistant for pelvic floor continuing education courses a few times each year. She has also done course work through Herman and Wallace so she can provide education and therapeutic massage to nursing mothers who are experiencing pain from clogged milk ducts or other painful breastfeeding conditions. Furthermore, she works with individuals recovering from breast surgery including mastectomy and breast reconstruction.
Prior to joining the team at Origin, Dr. Carr was the PT manager and senior therapist at an orthopedic and sports medicine clinic in Santa Monica. In addition to treating a variety of patients, she also provides clinical instruction to doctoral candidates from the physical therapy program at USC and is a mentor for the USC post doctoral orthopedic residency program. In her free time, Dr. Carr enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys who LOVE soccer. Her weekends are mostly spent supporting her boys at soccer games around So Cal. She also enjoys running, weight lifting, pole and aerial art, and walking/hiking regularly.
